IPTV Premieres Profiles in Iowa Journalism

Iowa Public Television has announced the premiere of Profiles in Iowa Journalism, a panel discussion with Iowa journalists discussing the unique stories that resulted in their Pulitzer Prize awards and the general state of modern journalism. The program will premiere Sunday, December 18 at 1 p.m. on statewide Iowa Public Television.

Dean Borg, longtime host and moderator of Iowa Press, will host the panel discussion. Panelists include:

  • Annah Backstrom, news editor for The Des Moines Register
  • Michael Gartner, former president of NBC News and former publisher of the Ames Tribune
  • Lyle Muller, executive director and editor of IowaWatch and former editor of The Gazette in  Cedar Rapids
  • Chuck Offenburger, longtime The Des Moines Register columnist

Profiles in Iowa Journalism will also feature interviews with Pulitzer Prize winners photographer Mary Willie, feature reporter Jane Shore and editorial writer Michael Gartner.
