Today marked my first triple-header of the summer, starting with morning story times at the Cedar Falls Public Library!

I was amazed to discover that it was "Bring Your Emu to the Library Day!"

A live emu can wreck a lot of havoc, so I helped the librarians set up a makeshift holding pen.

Unfortunately, the walls of our creation were unable to withstand the power of a rogue dragon.

Next, I visited the Lawler Public Library where they were excited to receive their own OFFICIAL SUPERHERO cards!

Luckily, I had enough for all the kids in attendance.

The town is remarkably comfortable with skunks being allowed into public buildings.

After my adventures in Lawler were finished, I hopped aboard a covered wagon and was off to my final stop!

It was easy finding the Murphy Helwig Public Library in Monona. I just needed to look for the giraffe!

Their community has the finest zookeepers in northeast Iowa!

After story time, everyone was off to the local baseball game.
